And we have signage!

One wrong paint color, some incorrectly cut graphics, 5 people, 4 trips to the hardware store, 2 trips to get "the right tool," some patching and repairing, one dead drill battery, two trips to Dunkin Donuts and the sign is finally hung! Thank you to all who helped me through the sign-hanging shenanigans...from dealing with moving the old sign to rotten sign posts to helping me on your lunch break to just cheering me on. Feels good to have that done!

Can't really miss that!

The pointer sign I created a few years back for the Art Barn was still kicking around and looks great with the lime green sign. So up it went too!

And of course the sign looks best with an adorable 5 year old standing beside it...I will let her come in when the shop is closed and of course for lunch. :o)

The hoops are up!

Hula hoops (handcrafted by yours truly) are up...literally! I hung them all from the ceiling to add a bit more fun to the shoppe, and it allows you to see all the bright colors. Of course, I have a couple set aside for practicing. Swing on my and try out a hoop! They're great core builders...not to mention they are so much fun! :o)

Open for business!

It's a beautiful sunny day in Holderness, NH and the doors to Veggie Art Girl Boutique LLC opened at 10 a.m. this morning! Spread the word and swing on by Wednesday through Sunday from 10-6. I'll be here! :o) (And road sign will be hung this week so I will be more visible from the road...a bit of a hassle surrounding that process!)

Check out this antique cash register I am using (circa 1906-ish). My dad has had it in the basement since before I was born. It weighs a ton and the drawer and keys stick, but the cha-ching sound it makes when the drawer opens makes it all worth the hassle!

Artisan Meet and Greet

Last night was the unveilling of Veggie Art Girl to a lot of the artists who are going to be selling their wares in the shoppe this summer. It was a great mix of people, a yummy potluck sharing and very inspiring! Thanks to all who contributed!

Be sure to swing on by the shop...which opens tomorrow (June 13th)! (Still need to work on getting my funky green sign hung out front on the road). But I will be there from 10-6, Wednesday-Sunday, peddling wares and serving homemade brownies (until they are gone). Come say hi! :o)

I'm excited...can you tell? :o)

Opening THIS Saturday!

That's right...two days! Saturday, June 13th I am opening the doors to Veggie Art Girl LLC at 10 a.m. with a platter of freshly baked brownies for all those who stop in and say hi. :o)

Here's a shot of the floor design....I am still a little sore from crouching down and painting the whole thing Sunday with a 2" brush! The outcome: totally worth the backache!

It's coming along...

Here is the first of a series of sneak peaks. Murals done...check! Walls painted...check!

Check out the fun, viney trim I found, which I aged with a sepia toned glaze and used to create a waynescoating of decoupaged old children's book pages. (Reading the wall is quite funny too!)
I am going to hang old windows and vintage curtains in front of this birdy wall to hang merchandiseAnd of course...everything has to have a swirly tree! (I am going to hang goodies on the branches to sell) Ok, now I'm heading back to the shoppe to make more progress.....WAIT 'til you see the floor design! It's all coming together! :o)
